Time: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Description of the event:
It is a beginning to intermediate processing class with a focus not only on how to edit, but also why you would want to make certain editing decisions. This is an additional class that I offer to all Tremont workshop attendees the day after the Tremont workshop wraps up. I’m offering it again this fall. This additional class is not associated with the Tremont Institute.
We will start the class at 9:00 am on November 4 and go until about 4:00 pm with a break for lunch. We can go longer or shorter as necessary. I’ll cover everything from digital basics to output. We’ll cover a variety of editing tools in Lightroom and Photoshop, including global and local adjustments, as well as image blending techniques. Importantly, I’ll talk about the “why” of image processing and offer some ideas on how to approach the image editing process in general. We’ll also spend time on some real-world examples, maybe even some of your images if anyone is willing to share them. My goal is to cover topics of interest for beginner through intermediate photographers. Several of you have attended my previous classes, so I plan to add information for repeat attendees.
If you are interested in attending or if you have any questions, please let me know and I’ll reply as soon as possible.
The class is free, but you will have to pay for your own lunch and bring any snacks or beverages to have during the class. We usually go to lunch together at a restaurant in Townsend, typically the Peaceful Side Social. For snacks and drinks during the class, people should bring their own. The Lodge does not have vending machines.
Who should Come: Photographers of all levels who want to improve their photography editing skills.
Format: To help attendees gather and retain as much information as possible, I encourage them to take notes and also to take photos of my slides throughout the class. Afterwards, I send a PDF of the slide deck that they can use as a reference of what we covered.
What to bring: Note pad for taking notes during class.
