
SANP is proud to present Black Bears in the Smokies workshop. This is a new workshop offered by Roger Trentham, a nature and wildlife photographer in the Gatlinburg area. In addition to this workshop, Roger conducts numerous workshops throughout the year with national photographers. Roger has agreed to do a few workshops for members of SANP. Roger will help and offer instruction to those who attend his workshop. This workshop is limited to a maximum of six individuals.

Why Should You Attend Roger’s Workshop: You will have the opportunity to photograph black bears outside of the Smokies using a blind near Roger’s residence. While Roger cannot guarantee the appearance of the Black Bears, he can assure you of a safe place to photograph them..

What to Bring: Your camera, charged batteries, memory card, lenses suitable for photographing black bear, a tripod, and a remote for your camera. Most of your photographs may be handheld. Bring your cellphone if you wish to experiment with the camera functions, but do not expect instructions for the cellphone.

Rules You Must Know: This workshop has a minimum of four and a maximum of six participants. There is no refund. Guests are not allowed to accompany you to this workshop. If this event is postponed due to the weather, another date will be provided.
Date and Time: June 3rd, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Directions and more information will be emailed to those registering for this event.
Snacks and Drinks: Bring your choice.
Location: This will be provided to those registering by email.
Registration is available for members only until May 25th, or all positions are taken. Everyone who attends must register online, with no exceptions. Do not wait to register for this event, as positions are limited and will not be exceeded.
