SANP is proud to present Birds and Warblers in the Smokies workshop. This is a new workshop offered by Roger Trentham, a nature and wildlife photographer in the Gatlinburg area. In addition to this workshop, Roger conducts numerous workshops throughout the year with national photographers. Roger has agreed to do a few workshops for members of SANP. Roger will help and offer instruction to those who attend his workshop. This workshop is limited to a maximum of six individuals.
Why Should You Attend Roger’s Workshop: You will have the opportunity to photograph birds and warblers at Roger’s residence, using his blind and the natural landscapes around Roger’s residence. Roger has identified six different variety of warblers around his residence. The variety of birds will amaze you. Roger will help you locate, photograph, and identify them. This is an excellent workshop for those interested in photographing birds you will not usually see on your outings. For those who are interested in photographing birds without doing a lot of walking or traveling, this is a workshop for you. If you are interested in photographing birds while they enjoy their natural habitat, you will want to attend.
What to Bring: Your camera, charged batteries, memory card, lenses suitable for photographing birds, a tripod, and a remote for your camera. Most of your photographs may be handheld. Bring your cellphone if you wish to experiment with the camera functions, but do not expect instructions for the cellphone.
Rules You Must Know: This workshop has a minimum of four and a maximum of six participants. There is no refund. Guests are not allowed to accompany you to this workshop. If this event is postponed due to the weather, another date will be provided.
Date and Time: April 28th, 2025. Directions and more information will be emailed to those registering for this event, which will officially start at 9:00 a.m.
Snacks and Drinks: Bring your choice.
Location: This will be provided to those registering by email.
Registration is available for members only until April 22nd, or all positions are taken. Everyone who attends must register online, with no exceptions. Do not wait to register for this event, as positions are limited and will not be exceeded.
Registration fee:
The member's fee is 100 dollars.
Other Workshops offered by Roger will include more Birds and Warblers after the current posted one fills. Additional days for any workshop will require that the posted one for that workshop has filled.
These dates will be used for Blue Ghost Fireflies starting May 13th, Synchronous Fireflies beginning June 12th, and Black Bears starting June 3rd. The workshops for those events will be posted separately.
