The Influence of Perspective

SANP's August Speaker is Bruce McCamish.  Bruce is a professional photographer with an emphasis in the real estate sector, but some of you may know him for his unique photographs of the Smokies, Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee sports program.  You may have helped carry his poles to Mt. Cammerer or some other location in the Smokies. You may have seen a camera on the top of a very long pole in downtown Knoxville or at one of the UT games without knowing who was using that camera.  Bruce may share how he uses that pole at our August meeting.

Since the age of 8, a camera has always been on his hip ready to document his many life’s adventures. As a native Tennessean, Bruce has a deep appreciation for beauty in all forms. Specializing in commercial, historical, and landscape photography, he shares this appreciation of beauty by drawing the viewer with vibrant color and unique scope - allowing them to feel what he felt at the moment his shutter clicked. Always striving to provide a new perspective, Bruce tries to see the world in a way only recognizable when viewing his alluring imagery.

It’s all in how you look at it. That’s what Bruce McCamish would say.  Developing his own perspective on photography has allowed Bruce to express his point of view in the images he captures. “No matter if we’re photographing nature, an event, wedding, or streetscape, there are always many things we cannot control, ie. The weather, people walking through the scene, lighting (to a degree), and/or mood. Perspective, and her companion composition, we can control.” Bruce will explain what influenced him and how those influences enabled him to develop his own style as a photographer.

You will not want to miss out on this presentation. See you at our August Club meeting. Remember to arrive early and socialize with other club members.

If you need something to talk about, you can share what you like about the new Canon camera that you recently purchased or planning to purchase.  Feel free to make the Nikon photographers envious. They have been enjoying bragging about their Z8 and Z9.

See you at our Club Meeting
