Meeting location: Forks of The River Wildlife Management Area Parking Lot, 3140 McClure Lane

Registration available:  Beginning today

Description: Dale Potter's earlier email offered a number of event suggestions. Let's start with sunflowers.  At least one field at Forks of the River is doing well (based on current Facebook posts.)  Sunflowers attract bees and birds providing a lot of options for you to photograph. We will get an early start and check out the area.

Learning opportunities: This is a good location to work on your technique using macro, zoom, or whatever lens you prefer. You may also want to experiment with features on your camera that you have not previously used.  A tripod is suggested but not required.

What to wear:  Dress cool and comfortable (your SANP hat would be a good choice.) Bring bug spray.

What to bring:  Camera, tripod, lots of cold water, snacks and whatever you need to be comfortable photographing in the sunflower field.

Walking required: The amount of walking and exploring is entirely up to you, and perhaps the heat.

Driving directions: Take I-40 to the James White Parkway and cross the river. Take the Sevier Ave/Hillwood Dr. exit and turn left. At the end of Hillwood Dr. turn right onto Island Home Ave. Pass Ijams Nature Center on the left, cross the railroad tracks to take a left onto McClure Lane which ends in the parking area.
