That's the date for the SANP member appreciation PICNIC!

Douglas Dam Overlook Park Pavilion, 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM.

Free registration through May 21.

This event is for you.  All active members and guests are invited.  We encourage you to invite your spouse, significant other, your family members or just a friend.  There will be food and fun for everyone.

The scenic views from the Overlook Park will provide a great backdrop as we eat our lunch and enjoy the company of our fellow members.  Buddy's Bar-b-q will be catering a delicious menu of pulled pork and smoked chicken with vegetables, bread, iced tea, lemonade and water.  If you would like another beverage, you may bring your own.  Alcohol is prohibited in the park.  Also, you might want to bring a collapsible chair for a more comfortable place to sit.

Following lunch, there will be a time of interactive fun and games designed to help us get to know each other better.  Your participation will be encouraged but not required, so you can relax and enjoy the fun either way.

Are you a bird photographer or would like to be one?  After the picnic, you may be able to photograph aquatic birds along the Douglas Dam tailwaters just down the hill from the picnic pavilion.  A local employee at the park said he has seen five or six bald eagles along the river recently.  Great blue herons are quite common there.

The price of admission to the picnic is simply to register on our website.  All members and guests must be registered by Tuesday, May 21.  That's the day we have to give Buddy's a final number for the food preparation.

For driving directions to the Douglas Dam Overlook Park, enter "Douglas Overlook Way Dandridge, TN" into the Google Maps navigator.  Take the road to the top of the hill to the parking area that is nearest to the picnic pavilion as shown in the picture above.
